ROUTE OVERVIEW

HÆRVEJSMARCHEN’s routes are located in and around Viborg. On Saturday, all the routes run north and east of Viborg, and on Sunday they run south and west of Viborg.

  • BLUE route 45 km: – Open to all – start time 06:00 to 08:00 Saturday and Sunday
  • RED route 40 km: – Open to all – start time 06:00 to 08:00 Saturday and Sunday
  • YELLOW route 30 km: – Open to all – start time 06:00 to 08:00 Saturday and Sunday
  • GREEN route 20 km: – Open to all – start time 06:00 to 09:00 Saturday and Sunday
  • ORANGE rute 10 km: Open to all – start time 07:00 to 11:00 Saturday and Sunday 

Two-day walks on the 20, 30, 40 and 45 km routes give you the right to a Hærvejsmarchen medal, an IML stamp and the option of buying an IML medal. For participants who are over 70 years old, this also applies to two-day walks on the 10 km routes.

The Children’s March route on Sunday, for children with their parents/grandparents:

  • BLACK route 5 km: – Joint warm-up 10.00 – joint start 11:00

INFORMATION ABOUT ALL ROUTES

All the routes are marked with the colours allocated to their distances – just follow HÆRVEJSMARCHEN’s signs all the way around.

The start and end of all the routes is on the Parade Square at Viborg Barracks – access is from Kasernehallen (The Sports Hall) at Tingvej 17, Viborg, where you can register, collect pre-ordered start cards and tickets for dining and accommodation, and collect medals at the end.

Everyone will receive a lanyard for their start card and route map. Water and fruit will be provided in the finishing tent. All participants must be at the finishing line by 18:00 on the Saturday and the Sunday, where medals and diplomas will be handed out at Kasernehallen (The Sports Hall) until 18:30.

You can register individually or as a team. Participants on the same team can walk different routes.

WHAT ROUTE SHOULD I CHOOSE?

• Carnival March 20 km Saturday: Buy a one-day start card for Saturday.

• Pilgrimage Walk Sunday: Buy day start cards for Sunday – 10/20 km

• Two-day routes between 20 and 45 km qualify you for a medal

• One-day start cards apply generally, to all routes, and do not qualify you for a medal

• You can walk the Carnival on the Saturday and another route on the Sunday and get a medal

• You can walk the Pilgrim on the Sunday and another route on the Saturday and get a medal
